Áncash: itinerary to travel with the family

ree

One of the biggest fears when planning a trip to this department is knowing if it is the most suitable for traveling with family or with older adults. In this itinerary, you will be able to discover some plans that are quite suitable for those people who prefer not to walk as much or reach places with high altitudes.

Full day llanganuco lake

This is definitely a plan to visit with your family. Agencies usually offer this tour for less than S/ 50 ($13 approx.) with several departures in the morning. The tour takes you very close to the lagoon, where you will take a walk of about 20 minutes and you can sail by boat for about S/ 10 ($3 approx.).

In addition to visiting the lagoon, you can go to Yungay where you will learn the history of the town that disappeared in the earthquake. You can go up to the viewpoint located in the cemetery if you wish and then you will return to the city around 6 or 7 at night.

Full day Chavín de Huantar

If you love culture and history, you will love this place. The tour includes a visit to the citadel and if you go with older adults remember to ask for discounts on admission to the museums. In the morning you will visit the ruins and in the afternoon you will tour the museum after lunch. On this trip you will be able to see some of the clava heads, the raymondi stele and the famous monolithic sand eel.

The tour really does not involve a strenuous walk and does not represent an effort since it is not at high altitude unlike the snow-capped mountains.

City tour Huaraz

Huaraz has museums and places to visit, so my recommendation is that on the first day, to acclimatize, visit some of its main places. Here you can book the tour through an agency or do it on your own.

You can visit the famous main square, as well as its museum located in the same square. You can take a taxi to the Temple of the Lord of Soledad and then go to the Mirador del Pinar.

Monterrey thermal baths

If you have not taken the city tour that includes a visit to the Monterrey thermal baths, you can also do it on your own by taking a taxi from the Plaza de Huaraz.

In this place you can take a bath in the pool or pool, the water temperature is 48° so you will have to combine the hot bath with cold water in the pools.

PD: It depends on how many days you go and how many tours you are considering, my recommendation is that you buy the packages directly with the agencies in the city of Huaraz itself. You will see that there is a wide range of agencies, most offer the same tours with a difference of S/ 5 or S/ 10. If you decide to hire more than one tour, remember to ask for your discount for packages or for the number of people.
